We have set up this site to be as user friendly as possible, and have installed some fantastic features.

When browsing through the pages of a website, we all want a user friendly experience and efficient use of our time. In an aim to achieve just this, we have added the following features which allow you to select various options to enhance the view and interactivity of your experience.

 

TJ's Cool Tools - get it all sorted right here.

On most of the website's pages you will see the module at the top right of the silver panel to the right of the page with this icon.
This is the TJ's Cool Tool's module.
Clicking on the basket will jump you to a new page in a new tab - this very page.
To the right you will find some great tools in a dynamic slider menu that you can use "on the fly". Simply click on the required tool and it will slide open ready for use. Easy!

Currency Converter.

If an article, review or listing talks about the price in a currency you are unfamiliar with, easy, just convert it. This tool covers a conversion for most of the world's leading currencies and calls to the Yahoo Finance site for up to date conversions. This is just a guide only and depending on the need, it may differ slightly to actual conversions you may be charged at the time of purchase in sites like Paypal etc.

World Time.

Need to know the time somewhere else in the world, hit the tool and open the window. This tool is still in a developmental stage and is getting a make over, but for now you can get to grips with the time in a bunch of countries.

Calculator / Unit Conversion / Calendar.

The use of these is all very self explanatory. Just jump in and use them. Enough said.

Translator.

The function of this very useful tool is specific and all about the detail.
The Translator tool is designed to translate single words or short phrases to help you understand context or difficult words on the page. If you are finding the going tough as English is not your first language, you can pick out words that you are having difficulty with and translate them to aid in the understanding of the page.
It is not designed to translate the entire page or big blocks of text. That tool is coming soon.

 

Searching within the site - get the most out of the power of TussockJumper.com.

Looking for a particular article?

Use our simple search tool in the main menu bar. Just type in whatever you are looking for and a list of pages will magically appear underneath. The TussockJumper search engine displays the results based on key words attached to articles, and words in articles.
For a more advanced search, click on the mini magnifying glass on the right of the search tab which will take you to the search section of the site, where you can refine your search even further. Type in your search words, parameters or phrases and presto, the links to pages and articles within the site will be displayed. This is a great tool, and will speed up your access to information incredibly.

 

Use the Breadcrumbs to Navigate

A great trick to get moving through the site more quickly is to become familiar with the easy menu system. The "Breadcrumbs" Menu leaves a trail of crumbs as you navigate your way through a section. This can be found at the top of this article's box embedded into the silver heading.
You can hover offer any of the previous crumbs, they will highlight with a line underneath to show that they are active and you can go straight to that page. Easy!
At any stage you can get right back to the start, the home page using the "jump Back Home" box at the top of the left column of every page.

 

Image Enlarger / Zoom

This tool is great for getting a closer look at some of the images on the website.

Wherever you see an image with the little magnifying glass in the bottom right (or left) corner, know that you can click on this image and enlarge it to get a closer look.

Clicking on the image opens a pop up window that either holds a larger version of the smaller image, or an entirely new image altogether if we are feeling quite tricky at the time.

This feature was deployed at the start of 2011, so some of the older images on the website do not have this option available.

 

Return to the top of the page quickly

Got to the end of a super long page or article, instead of scrolling up you can just click on the "top" icon at the bottom of the page (in the green section down by the footer) and it will do all of the hard work for you.
We have also installed a new feature that floats with the page in the very bottom right hand corner of your browser. Hit it at any time to get back to the top of the page.

 

Anti-Spam Measures

We have constructed our site to utilise the most up-to date anti-spam measures. This means that when you want to contact us you will have to fill out a reCaptcha form to make sure that your message gets through.
This form is designed to filter out and deal with the evil bot programmes that create spam.
